PANJIM: Former minister and independent MLA Rohan Khaunte on Monday wrote to Secretary, Legislature, alleging that several questions tabled by him for the upcoming Budget session of the State Legislative Assembly have been missing from the question set.
Khaunte has written to the secretary pointing out that set of questions including starred and unstarred ones which he had tabled on January 8, 9, 10, 13 and 14 on various departments are “omitted and edited from the list of Legislative Assembly star questions at Eleventh Session, 2020.”
When contacted, Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Rajesh Patnekar said that he would enquire into the matter.
“I would certainly enquire into the matter to know whether questions were really omitted or not,” he said.
“I would like to bring to your notice that the star questions which are to be replied by the chief minister over finance and education are edited and omitted without giving any information. I therefore desire to know the reasons for omission of questions as this questions are very important,” Khaunte said.
“Kindly check the questions I had raised for all the five days of the forthcoming Assembly session and may do the needful corrections so that the objective of the question raised is not lost,” the former minister said.
He has requested Secretary to look into the matter as soon as possible as the Session is approaching on February 3, so that the issue can be resolved before that.
The Assembly session is summoned from February 3-7.
