MAPUSA: The Mapusa Police arrested Domitrov Yenka, a Bulgarian national for installing or collecting data from a skimmer device planted on an ATM at Khorlim-Mapusa. An alert security guard posted at the ATM caught the accused for carrying out suspicious activity and handed him over to the police.
Mapusa Police had received prior information from the bank manager that some unknown person attached a data skimming device to the ATM machine.
Mapusa PI Kapil Nayak informed that the accused had come to the ATM on Thursday midnight. “The alert security guard caught him red handed and called the Mapusa Police. Our staff went to the spot and apprehended the accused,” Nayak said.
A case has been registered under Sections 380 and 516 of PIC. PSI Francis Xavier is investigating this case under the guidance of PI Nayak.
The accused was produced for remand on Saturday.
