Bull fight: cops accused of no action

MARGAO: A group of residents has complained that the Colva police did not respond to telephone calls to stop a bull fight at Mondear-Benaulim on Monday evening.

The residents claimed that though the bull fight took place in the locality at around 4.30 pm, the police did not make their presence felt on time. “We informed the police Control room three times an were told they were on their way,” one of the residents alleged.
When Herald contacted Colva police station in-charge PI Uttam Raut Desai to throw light on the allegations, he said that a police team had headed to Mondear, but
did not find any bull fight in the area.
