MARGAO, JUNE 24 (HR) — The Margao police on Wednesday foiled a bullfight at Telaulim village this evening.
Acting on a tip off, personnel of the Margao police descended at the venue of the bullfight and averted the planned fight.
It is learnt that the a bull from Varca was scheduled to lock horns with a bull from Agassaim, but the fight could not take place after the police made its presence felt at the venue.
Incidentally, the Margao police were taken by surprise when a bull fight took place at Navelim on June 18.
It was only after an inquiry that the police registered an offence against the bull owners. Margao PI Rajendra Prabhudesai informed that the police have already registered a case in respect of the bullfight that took place at Navelim-Sinquetim on June 18.
