Bungalow gutted in Dabolim

Goods worth Rs 3 lakh were gutted in a fire that broke out in a bungalow near MES College Dabolim-Sancoale on Tuesday morning.
However, timely intervention of Vasco Fire Services, property worth nearly Rs 20 lakh was saved from getting destroyed from the bungalow belonging to electrical engineer Sandeep Gupta.
According to reports, the incident occurred at about 10 am when the owner had gone for work and no one was present in the house. Vasco Fire Brigade In-charge Bosco Ferrao said the cause of fire could be due to short circuit or power fluctuation in the split AC in the bungalow.
“Furniture, electronic items and other electrical appliance amounting to Rs 3 lakh have been damaged in the fire,” informed Ferrao.
“Preliminary enquiry suggests that fire might have caused due to short circuit or power fluctuation. But we have written to the electricity department to give their opinion on cause of fire,” said Ferrao.
