MARGAO: A major fire completely gutted a bus at Tollebandh-Chinchinim in the wee hours of Friday.
The bus caught fire at around 4 am after it was parked by the owner Xavier Viegas at the spot after midnight. Viegas has put the total loss on account of the fire to Rs 17-20 lakh.
“I received a call from a neighbour that the bus is engulfed in a major fire”, he said.
Fire officer Kashninath Sail told newsmen that a fire tender which was sent to Chinchinim managed to bring the fire under control. He said the exact cause of fire is being ascertained.
