Speaking to media, the MLA alleged that PWD is carrying out all road works in a hurry and only half of these are complete.
“BRICS work is a good thing to happen as the road works, which we were supposed to be carried out in December are being taken up now,” Caitu said, adding that land had been acquired on both sides but the work is carried out on just one side.
The MLA informed that he will complain to the Chief Secretary regarding this as he suspects some hidden agenda of the engineers.
“It can be seen that some roadside trees have not been cut despite acquiring the land,” Caitu informed.
It may be recalled that several people and owners of various establishments had voluntarily removed the roadside structures and hoardings within 12 metres of setback areas along the Colva-Mungul stretch on Friday. The work is a part of the upgradation and beautification of road network from Seraulim to Colva Beach-Phase 1, which has been going on in full swing for the upcoming BRICS summit.
