The Chief Minister in his greetings expressed hope that the occasion will further promote the rich Islamic tradition of faith and devotion amongst the believers in the society.
He said “Eid ul Zuha, which is also known as Eid al Adha or Bakrid reminds us of the absolute faith of Ibrahim (Abraham) in Allah and promotes good will amongst the people.”
Parsekar expressed hope that the festival would also remind all of freedom of religion and faith and thereby sending a strong message for communal harmony and respect for each other.
The Governor in her message said, “It is one of the major festival celebrated throughout our nation with great fervour and joy. This is a festival of sacrifice in the name of God and love for fellow citizens.”
The Governor said, “Goa is blessed with a diverse population wherein every festival is celebrated with equal passion. This is a very appropriate occasion for us to remember that all religions preach love and affection and we all should pledge to practice these ideals in our life regardless of religion, caste and community.”
“Let us on this occasion make efforts to further strengthen the bonds of unity, peace and integration,” the Governor further added.
