Calangute MLA Michael Lobo Bats for Unified Goa Club Policy After Reopenings

Calangute MLA Michael Lobo has said that the nightclubs which recently reopened after being sealed did so only after complying with all required norms. He added that he has discussed the need for a comprehensive Goa Club Policy with the Chief Minister.

Lobo suggested that the proposed policy should streamline approvals by bringing all necessary NOCs under a single framework, after which local panchayats could issue permissions. However, he emphasised that the primary club licence should be granted by higher authorities such as the Home Department, Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC), or the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG).
