MAPUSA: The Calangute Village Panchayat approved the Budget, discussed beggars, child labour and other issues during the gram sabha held, on Sunday.
Sarpanch Shawn Martin initially approved the Budget for the Financial Year 2021-22 and further mentioned that as promised, there is no increase in taxes. Panchayat has also made provisions in the Budget for the “Calangute Going Green” initiative, in which the villagers are encouraged to take up agricultural activities by distributing free seeds, fertilisers and also assured buy-back.

The sarpanch said a new tractor has been purchased which the people can use for agricultural activities.
