MAPUSA: In two separate raids, Calangute police arrested two pimps Mukesh Chaurasiya (21), a resident of Daman, and Laxmi Prasad Jaiswal (Babloo), a native of Uttar Pradesh and rescued three women, on Saturday.
A team led by Police Inspector Nolasco Raposo conducted the two separate raids early morning on Saturday.
Later, the women were produced before the Sub Divisional Magistrate, Mapusa and further lodged in the State Protective Home, Merces for their care and safety.
Both the accused have been booked under Section 370 IPC and Sections 4, 5 and 7 of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 and then produced before JMFC Mapusa. Both are remanded in police custody for three days.
The other members or the raiding team were Lady Police Sub Inspector Deepa Deikar, Head Constable Devidas Haldankar, Police Constable Vinod Naik, Vinay Shrivastav, Suresh Naik and Lady Police Constable Deepa Gurav.
