A 28-year-old woman from Teen Maad, Camurlim, committed suicide by hanging herself in her office at Mapusa on Friday.
According to Mapusa Police, Anushka alias Sonali Patil went to her office as usual on Friday morning and committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling.
Police further informed that Patil had married in May, this year, and her husband is working abroad.
Mapusa Police rushed to the spot and conducted the Panchanama, while Deputy Collector Dashrat Redkar conducted the inquest Panchanama.
Since the suicide has occurred within just seven years of marriage, Deputy Collector Redkar will conduct enquiry into the matter under Section 176 of CrPC.
Police said the deceased’s husband has been informed about the incident and he is expected to arrive shortly.
Police Sub Inspector Vijay Rane is investigating the case.
