PANJIM: Amid the uneasy truce which prevails within the Congress, will the BJP State President Sadanand Tanavade’s remark rock the Congress boat again?

Though he said Congress should know to take care of its flock, he said he cannot close his party doors to those who wish to join. When media questioned Tanavade whether BJP central leadership was interfering in the Congress crisis, he denied it.

When asked to react to the statement that BJP is out to finish the Congress, he said each one has to safeguard his home. It is their responsibility. “I have to guard my own house,” he said.

“Regarding Congress, you please ask (Goa desk incharge) Dinesh Gundu Rao. Ask me about BJP. I don’t want to comment on their (Congress) affairs,” he said.

He said, “This is a national party. Can a national party close its doors? Doors of a national party are open. I’m not saying I’m ready to take them. But I cannot close the door and sit inside.”

Asked if BJP MLAs will be rattled if they take Congress MLAs, he asked, “Who said we will take them? Keeping the door open and taking them are two different things. We have 20 plus 5 MLAs and everything is going well,” he said.
