CANACONA: With no sight of improvement at the lone government hospital in Canacona, Association of Businessmen of Canacona (ABC) has joined Canacona Health Welfare Committee (CHWC) to demand immediate attention of the government and the health minister to improve health care facilities in the taluka.
In a joint press release, ABC and CHWC reminded the government that the status of Canacona Health Centre (CHC) has remained unchanged even after completion of one year of new guard in power and the hospital continues to reel with insufficient equipments, manpower and doctors and emergency services.
To assist the government to pursue the demand for upgradation of CHC to a full-fledged hospital with a trauma unit, on requests from CHWC, all seven panchayats and Canacona Municipal Council adopted and submitted resolutions to that effect.
Copies were submitted to Health Minister, Sports Minister and Canacona Dy Collector, states the press note issued by CHWC President.
