CANACONA: Goa Consumer Expo, providing everything under one roof, had a grand opening in Canacona on Wednesday. The expo partnered by Herald Group was inaugurated by Canacona Municipal Council chairperson Simon Rebello. Ex-Canacona MLA Vijay Poi Khot was the special invitee at the inaugural function.
CMC Deputy Chairperson Champa Ashok Pagui, councillors Ajay Bhagat and Ratnakar Dhuri were also present amongst several others.
Rebello as well as Poi Khot showed keen interest in various products on display and sale at the expo, especially the fake notes identifier machines. Later speaking to the press, Rebello congratulated Herald Group for bringing back the consumer expo to the remote taluka in a short span of time and said that public would certainly benefit from it. ‘Previously Canconcars often had to travel to the towns and capital city to visit exhibitions of such magnitude, but thanks to Herald, we are now getting the same exposure in our own town,’ Rebello told Herald.
Poi Khot also praised Herald by saying, ‘Such novelties is a welcome step, and will certainly help Canconkars to understand and make their choice of their needs under one roof.’
The Goa Consumer Expo brought to Canacona by public demand is a summer attraction and will go on for six days from Wednesday until May 4. The exhibition is open from 10.30 am to 9 pm at Open Grounds, opp Mamlatdar office, Chaudi.
Entry here is free and there is ample parking space. Many of the products come with big discounts. The stalls include food & entertainment, handlooms, gold jewellery, ladies shoes/kurties, crockery, carpets, cosmetics, toys, kids wear, dress materials and men’s wear. Real Group, Venus International, Swadeshi shirts, Shikha home appliances, RD Teleshop Flame & Grill, Eureka Forbes, Shree Jawahar Furnishing & SRR masalas and many more.
