Canca panchayat cleans lotus pond

The Verla-Canca panchayat has begun removing the garbage dumped near the Lotus pond and is also cleaning the pond.
The Shiva Sena (Bardez unit) had written to the Verla Canca Panchayat pointing out to the heaps of garbage dumped by the roadside.
“During rain, this garbage get washed way and the pond gets polluted. This rotten garbage has caused the loss of sanctity to the national flower ‘Lotus’,” the Shiv Sena stated.
“Further, this site has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes and is a health hazard,” they added.
