PONDA: Chairman of Sugarcane Farmers Facilitation Committee Adv Narendra Sawaikar on Monday submitted a report to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant suggesting immediate action for resumption of Sanjivani Sugar Factory.
During the discussion with the Chief Minister Adv Narendra along with other members Ramesh Tawadkar, Subhash Faldessai, Aitin Mascarenhas, Harshad Prabhudesai and Satish Tendulkar made following suggestions: Agriculture Department be entrusted with the work to strengthen the agricultural wing of the sugar factory.
Services of expert organisations such as Deccan Sugar Technology Association and Jaggery Research Station, Sankeshwar should be engaged for study of technical feasibility for new emerging concepts like ethanol and organic jaggery so that sugarcane cultivation can be more profitable.
After giving a patience hearing, the Chief Minister assured that an amount of Rs 600 will be disbursed shortly.
