MARGAO: Carmona locals have been holding meetings in every ward of the village for the last few weeks to strengthen their anti-Raheja movement. They will continue to do so until the next panchayat meeting, which, according to sources, will take place on November 12. The villagers have been urged to attend it to observe the actions of the panchas.
At the last pancahyat meeting, some of the panchas opined that they should wait for the Town and Country Planning department (TCP) to take action on the Raheja issue. The villagers are demanding that the pancahayat issue a show-cause notice to Raheja based on the joint inspection report with the TCP and the memorandum they had submitted at the public meeting on October 12.
Carmona villagers have vowed to support anti-real estate agitations across Goa, including the ones at Tiracol and Tuem. They have planned to travel to these meetings across North Goa.
