PONDA: In a novel move towards road safety, the members of the Goa Road Safety Forum (GRSF) on Sunday night gathered at Tisk Ponda and tied reflector belts around necks of stray cattle squatting along the road.
Praising the members for the novel move, passersby encouraged them to continue the mission as cattle squatting along the roads and highways in the state pose a serious threat especially during night.
Goa Road Safety Forum member Deelip Naik said, “Many riders have been injured in the cattle related accidents and there have been traffic chaos reported along the stretch especially on Saturdays. We have observed that at night, these cattle squat along the roads and it becomes convenient for us to tie these belts.”
