Panjim: A Crime Branch (CB) inquiry has been ordered into two videos in which an inmate Anwar Sheikh alias Tiger along with others is seen walking through the corridors of the Central Jail, Colvale.

The two videos had gone viral on social media in August, shot before Tiger walked out of jail on conditional bail in a criminal case against him. Inspector General of Prisons Gurudas Pilarnkar had soon ordered a probe.
“The prison administration has taken due cognisance of the said clips and news articles. A detailed inquiry has been initiated in the matter including recording of the statement of few prisoners,” a press statement had said.
A report to the Home Department, Pilarnkar told Herald, recommended investigation through CB. The report was accepted on Thursday with CB Superintendent of Police (SP) to head the probe.
The accused with a string of criminal cases against him was recently booked for assaulting a businessman. He was arrested a day after he went absconding, by the Maina Curtorim Police.
