PANJIM: Crime Branch (CB) on Thursday moved the special court seeking permission to conduct narco analysis tests on former chief minister Digambar Kamat for replies to several queries in connection with the Louis Berger bribery case.
The application comes a day after the court turned out CB’s previous application requesting permission to do the test on former PWD minister Churchill Alemao and sacked JICA project director Anand Wachasundar. The duo had not given their consent for the same.
The court has reportedly issued a notice to Kamat to reply to the CB petition. The MLA has been named as ‘suspect’ in the 482-page chargesheet in the JICA bribery case submitted to the court in September.
CB’s plea challenging Kamat’s anticipatory bail is scheduled to be heard on December 8, even as the investigation agency continues its probe to expose Kamat’s alleged involvement in the bribery scam. The missing JICA files, recovery of bribe amount he received as kickbacks from Louis Berger and failing to cooperate with the investigation are some highlights of the petition.
