PANJIM: A Crime Branch team, investigating the rape and murder of Vijaya Pagi, is expected to arrive in Goa along with a suspect on Tuesday. Vikas Saw, a Bihar native was picked up from his hometown last weekend for purchasing a stolen phone from the main accused Ram Bharose.
“Vikas paid Rs 1,000 for the second hand phone which belongs to the victim woman. He was probably not aware about the incident but he has been booked for ‘dishonestly receiving stolen property’ under section 411 of IPC,” an officer said.
The suspect was living in Goa but was not known to the accused.
The team had obtained his transit remand from a local court in Bihar.
