CBI’s anti-graft branch to probe Lusofonia scam

PANJIM: The Central Bureau of Investigation has forwarded the complaint pertaining to alleged scam relating to the Lusofonia Games in Goa, to anti-corruption branch for investigation, Congress said on Wednesday.

PANJIM: The Central Bureau of Investigation has forwarded the complaint pertaining to alleged scam relating to the Lusofonia Games in Goa, to anti-corruption branch for investigation, Congress said on Wednesday. 
“We have received a communication from CBI with respect to the complaint filed by us with regards to Lusofonia Games scam stating that it has been forwarded to the Superintendent of Police ACB,” Congress spokesperson Durgadas Kamat said. 
Alleging that there was a scam in the Lusofonia Games infrastructure projects, the Congress had on August 3 filed a formal complaint with the CBI seeking a probe.
 against Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar and CEO of Lusofonia Games Keshav Chandra. 
Kamat, the complainant in the case had also sought an investigation against games advisor R K Sacheti and several other government officials into the massive illegality committed in the games that were held in January this year. He had claimed that the scam runs into crores of rupees. 
“We demand that government should investigate this matter and remove the skeletons out,” Kamat said.
