CCE system is already been introduced from Classes I to VIII as per the requirement of the Right to Education Act (RTE).
The six-member committee headed by an ex-headmaster Mario Quadros was constituted to study the feasibility of introducing the system for Class IX.
Rebello said that the board had drafted the State CCE policy in line with the central policy. However, the same needs to be rectified. “Hence the implementation of CCE is been delayed by another year. We had initially planned to implement the system from the ongoing academic year itself,” he explained.
GBSHSE had roped in the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) Centre for Assessment, Evaluation and Research to monitor CCE system. It has trained nearly 50 teachers to implement the system.
