A memorandum signed by committee members and other employees of CCMC given to police stated that they will go on strike from Wednesday if police failed to arrest the woman who had assaulted the officer during their heated argument over some issue.
“First Information Report (FIR) was lodged by the chief officer at your police station on August 24 and till date no action has been taken by police nor arrest has been made yet and such incident may occur again if no action is taken” they stated in the memorandum submitted to Curchorem police inspector and copies sent to local MLA Nilesh Cabral, Director of Municipal Administration, President of Goa Municipal Employees Association Keshav Prabhu, Curchorem-Cacora Municipal Council Chairperson and chief officer.
It may be recalled that the investigating officer PSI Arun Endro informed the press that on August 23 chief officer sent the labourers to clear the mud which the lady had dumped in the neighbour’s compound and since the lady objected, the officer again sent the labourers with police protection but when the team reached at the site the woman moved out from her house and went to CCMC’s office and assaulted the chief officer during their heated argument over the issue.
Later the complaint was registered against her Under Section 452,332 and 504 of IPC.
