PANJIM: The Corporation of City of Panaji (CCP) on Wednesday issued a show cause notice to Nilesh Amonkar of Apex Computers & Engineering Services, owner of Spaces Building at Patto Plaza, for having illegally and unlawfully rented two floors of the building for non-residential use.
Acting on a complaint filed by Advocate Aires Rodrigues, CCP Deputy Commissioner Sudhir Kerkar pointed out in the notice that as per the Occupancy Certificate issued by CCP, the sixth and seventh floors of Spaces building have been authorised for residential purposes.
CCP has given Nilesh Amonkar seven days to show cause why action should not be taken against him under the City of Corporation Act, 2002.
Incidentally, the sixth floor now houses one of the Panjim courts, which were moved to Spaces building last week.
Goa government from November 1, 2013 has leased from Amonkar 4841 sq mts at Spaces building at an annual rent of over Rs 5 crore after Amonkar represented to Goa government that all the floors of the building were authorized for commercial use.
