PANJIM: The financial year 2017 has commenced on a positive note for the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) as the sopo collection has tripled.
CCP market committee chairman Uday Madkaikar said the collection during May was around Rs 18000 a day which is almost thrice the amount being collected earlier.
The CCP increased the sopo from Rs 10 per sq. mtrs to Rs 15 per sq. mtrs. at the beginning of the current financial year.
