Addressing the media, MMC Chairperson Gonzaco Rebello said the centenary year celebrations of the library will be inaugurated at the hands of Fisheries Minister Avertano Furtado in the presence of the three MLAs Digambar Kamat, Vijai Sardesai and Reginaldo Lourenco.
He said the civic body will felicitate Prof Jyoti Kulkarni, Adv Rajiv M Shinkre, Dr Chitra Kudchadkar, Parmanand Keni and Vinaya V Kamat on the occasion.
MMC Vice-Chairperson and Chairman of the Library Committee, Dadi Mayenkar said an essay contest, besides elocution competition, story telling competition, fancy dress and solo singing competitions, besides Rangoli competition will be held between December 15-17.
He said the Civic body will also rope in Eminent personalities to deliver talk on various issues during the centenary year.
MMC Librarian Andrade said that the Civic body has chalked out an elaborate plan to celebrate the centenary.
