PANJIM: The Centre has approved a whopping Rs 386 crore to Goa for capital investment. The sanction has been done under ‘Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment 2023-24’ scheme for giving major and timely boost to the capital spending.
The Centre on Monday approved total Rs 56,415 crore towards capital investment for 16 States including Goa.
Under the scheme, the projects are approved from diverse sectors including health, education, irrigation, water supply, power, road infrastructure among others.
The scheme, which was announced in the Union budget provides special assistance to the State governments in the form of 50 year interest free loan up to an overall sum of Rs 1.3 lakh crore during the current financial year.
