VASCO: Stating that the decision to resume international flights is with the Centre, South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha on Wednesday said it is only after the approvals from the Central government that international flights can commence operations.
He was speaking during the inauguration of the Goan artifact at the Dabolim airport terminal building. Airport Director Gagan Malik informed that the Dabolim Airport was operational all these days.
Malik said, “The Dabolim airport was never shut. Though domestic business has done well, the international flights will be activated only after receiving permissions from the Central government, the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Civil Aviation Department. He said slots were booked for Qatar Airways, but the flights did not arrive due to load factor.
