MAPUSA: The Mapusa Police on Thursday filed charge sheet before the JMFC Mapusa against a daily wage labourer one Pitambar Shankar Malik, a native of Odisha for allegedly killing his fellow labourer near Keni Tower Mapusa, on October 14, 2020. The 128-page charge sheet has been filed against the accused.
It may be recalled that the victim — Rahul Bengali, a native of West Bengal, was allegedly murdered by his fellow daily wage labourer Pitambar with a wooden stick. Pitambar hit Rahul on his head and assaulted a lady, who was present with the victim. Mapusa Police launched a manhunt and apprehended the accused within the town vicinity. The accused later confessed to the crime and an offence was registered under Sections 302 and 307 of the Indian Penal Code against him.
