MARGAO: The Aam Aadmi Party candidate for Velim, Cruz Silva, has rebutted the allegations made against him of cheating. Silva has called the allegation of cheating as fake and has been made up by his political rivals with the help of an extortionist NGO.
Cruz told Herald that the complainant Cyril Bonifus Pereira is a non-Goan and has been propped up by local Velim political rivals of AAP.
Cruz also alleged that an extortionist NGO is also involved in maligning his image. Cruz has sent a defamation notice to complainant Bonifus of Rs 20 lakh.
“By deliberately misrepresenting facts with ulterior motives the complainant has defamed me with a main objective of tarnishing my image in the eyes of the public at large. This has been done so to defeat my prospects during the ensuing elections of Goa Assembly for which I am a prospective candidate for the Aam Admi Party,” Cruz said.
Revealing facts, Cruz said that he himself has filed a suit against the land owner to give ownership rights to persons who purchased flats from him.
Cruz also said that since he has not stopped the execution of sale deed the order of the Consumer forum was challenged by him and was subsequently stayed.
