A statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was recently installed at Nehru Park in Sanguem, situated in front of the church. The ceremony was attended by MLA and Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai, who, along with his wife Alka Phal Dessai, performed the rituals.
The event saw participation from members of both the Christian and Muslim communities, highlighting the unity and harmony among the people of Sanguem. The installation of the statue serves as a symbol of shared respect and pride in the region’s cultural and historical heritage.
