VASCO: The internal road in Chicalim, which connects national highway near NSD bus stop, has virtually turned into a death trap with several motorists especially riders taking the wrong lane to avoid travelling an additional kilometre distance.
Pedestrians have fear that riders taking wrong lane could result in fatal accidents.
The Dabolim-Bogmalo junction, which lacks traffic signal and traffic policemen, has turned dangerous. Most riders, especially college and school students take the wrong lane on the NH by avoid travelling an additional kilometre distance to take the U turn to change the lane.
Headmistress of a primary school, Brenda complained that many commuters travelling on internal road near bus stop take the wrong lane to come on the highway which can prove fatal.
She further claimed that there is no traffic police at the Dabolim Circle to maintain vigil on the traffic violations.
Nihal, a local further complained that the riders are involved in over speeding that too in the wrong lane. He demanded that the authorities need to take action against such riders for putting the lives of people at risk.
