Chief Officer urged to convene monthly meetings in Sanguem Council hall

SANGUEM: Three councillors of Sanguem Municipal Council (SMC) have urged the Chief Officer SMC to conduct the council monthly meetings in the meeting hall as against the present practice of conducting the meetings in the Chairperson’s cabin.

Cuncillors Fouziya Shaikh, Messiah D‘Costa and Romualdo Fernandes in their memorandum handed over to the Chief Officer stated that the people from Sanguem have every right to attend the council meetings and watch the proceedings to know the issues taken up by their elected representatives.

Just like the Assembly sessions and the council meetings which are held in other municipalities in the State of Goa, the people from Sanguem also have right to watch the proceedings and as such urged the Chief Officer to conduct the forthcoming meetings in the meeting hall.
