PANJIM: Chimbel gram sabha on Thursday adopted a resolution to exclude the high tide line shown beyond the sluice gate in the proposed draft coastal zone management plan (CZMP) of the village.
Chimbel Manch has however, strongly condemned the decision.
The only agenda before the meeting was to update and approve the village plan. During the last meeting, one of the major changes proposed to the draft plan was to incorporate high tide line beyond sluice gate.
Accordingly, a revised plan was placed for the approval of gram sabha.
During the meeting, a group of people demanded that high tide line beyond sluice gate should be dropped from the plan.
The Chimbel Manch members, however, raised serious concern alerting gram sabha on potential dangers that village will be posing in case HTL is not shown in plan from view point of disaster management and natural calamity.
Despite that the gram sabha passed the resolution to exclude HTL beyond sluice gate from the plan.
