as the present one is in a dilapidated condition.
“Our panchayat ghar is in a very bad condition. Therefore, a resolution was taken by the panchayat to shift the files to a safe place till the construction of the new panchayat ghar is completed,” Fernandes says in his complaint.
Fernandes’s complaint says that the GSIDC has completed the file of the panchayat ghar and sports complex, in all respects and the panchayat body also passed a unanimous resolution on April 15, this year, to send the file for technical approval. However, it has not been sent to TCP for the same.
While Fernandes blamed the secretary Edwin Carvalho for the delay in sending the file to the TCP for technical approval, Carvalho rejected the blame saying, “It is upto the sarpanch to implement the resolution and that the sarpanch is waiting for the consent of the gram sabha.”
“I have told the panchas that the panchayat ghar file will be placed before the gram sabha and accordingly it will be moved to the next stage,” said Sarpanch Santos Rebello.
