PANJIM: The special gram sabha of Chodan-Madel on Sunday discussed issues like 24×7 ferry service, free entry of villagers to the Chorao Bird Sanctuary, ferry passes to the Chorao villagers for four wheelers, proper ferry services, traffic congestion caused by influx of tourists at ferry points, opening of shops, which is pending for last many years.
It was resolved that the next gram sabha will be held in January 2024 and villagers will be allowed to submit their grievances or the questions pertaining to River Navigation Department (RND) by December 20, 2023, to the sarpanch.

Sarpanch Ravindra Kinalekar told the gram sabha members that the questions will be sent to the officials concerned of the department.
The gram sabha members asked the sarpanch to invite officers, local MLA and the minister concerned in the next gram sabha meeting so that they can get an assurance and concrete answer to the questions from them.
The gram sabha members also discussed the holding of the gram sabha on time as for the last one year it is not being held on time.
The last gram sabha meeting was held in July this year. The sarpanch assured the villagers to hold the meeting on time.
