Given the fact that the Code of Conduct has been enforced due to the forthcoming ZP polls, there will be no discussion on development plans for the island. But residents of Chorao and members of United Citizens of Chorao (UCC) are planning to question elected representatives on why they have remained silent on the proposed bridge since the last three months.
According to UCC members, Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation is reported to have informed the Chodan-Madel Panchayat that land acquisition process for the proposed bridge is still in progress. This information was provided by the panchayat to the UCC on March 5, in response to a query by UCC under the Right to Information Act on February 7.
