VASCO: The Goa unit of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) on Tuesday clarified that the party’s lone MLA Churchill Alemao extended support to the ruling BJP after consultation with the party supremo Sharad Pawar.
When asked at a press briefing on Tuesday at Vasco, whether he was sidelined by Alemao in extending his support to the BJP government, NCP State President Jose Philip D’Souza said, “Alemao consulted Pawar before extending support to BJP and this cannot be considered as sidelining me.”
At the press briefing, D’Souza also touched some prominent issues faced by the people of Mormugao. He said that he recently visited the sub-district hospital at Chicalim and found that around 5 to 6 persons with vector borne diseases visit to this hospital but sadly due to lack of staff and other facilities, they are being sent to GMC for treatment.
Commenting on the condition of the roads in Vasco, he said that the roads in the town are riddled with potholes but sadly no authority is taking cognizance of this issue.
