The current dreaded concern of the world is already upon on us, the coronavirus pandemic, and we appreciate that the government of our country is battling it out well! However, we also cannot ignore the onset of sweltering summer that would be or already upon us, at least in this State!
Goa is known for its electricity power cuts at any time of the year for reasons best known to the authorities, and we respect and appreciate the same. However, some suggestions could be incorporated: If options are available, electricity power-cuts can be done during day-time only from 9 am to 2 pm in the residential areas or the best times the authorities deem it fit during the day and not night.
Manufacturing units/areas, hotel industries, hospitals etc should not face the brunt of power-cuts, as they bring in much needed revenue/economy to the State. The power cuts should not be done during night-time, as people are tired after a hard day’s work and covet sound sleep – even the senior citizens would want that. If the power-cuts happen during the night, the residents refrain from venturing out of their houses in the middle of the night or open their doors and windows to take some breeze, as mostly in the night – during summer – one won’t find coconut palms or trees fluttering their leaves, and in a place like Goa, scary creepy-crawlies are at work! But day time, we feel free to open the doors and windows to let in some cool/hot breeze! I plead with the concerned authorities much needed respite from electricity power cuts.
