CANACONA: Not satisfied with the assurances and promises made by the local PWD office who looks after the maintenance of village roads a delegation comprising of youth of Bhagatwada visited Executive Engineers office in Margao and left his office only after getting a videographed statement that the affected road from Charasta to Patnem via Bhagatwada will be carpeted within a span of three months.
Unhappy with the state of the road from Charasta to Patnem via Bhagatwada and local PWD office not addressing the issue a delegation comprising of Nandeep Bhagat, Vikas Bhagat, Samrat Bhagat and Pralay Bhagat along with officials at the local PWD office met the Executive Engineer in his office at Margao. They appraised him about the innumerable pot holes and hazardous nature of about 2 kms stretch of road leading to Patnem from Charasta via Bhagatwada, the delegation left the office of the Executive Engineer only after extracting an assurance from him that the hot-mixing of this road will be undertaken within three months.
Speaking to this correspondent Samrat Bhagat said that this portion of the road has so many pot holes and is dangerous for two-wheeler riders. The local PWD officials had promised at the public darbhar organised by local MLA Isidore Fernandes in February that the repairs would be undertaken before monsoon.
However, nothing is being done till date exposing motorists, especially two wheeler riders to hazardous situation, Bhagat said while expressing happiness over the time bound assurance given by the Executive Engineer.
