Even though the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) has emphasized on door-to-door collection of garbage, there are several spots in the city of Vasco where people still dump the garbage. Such black spots are observed at various places.
One such black spot exists by the roadside at a crowded shopping complex which has a couple of banks, a hospital, several shops, hotels, including a pharmacy in close proximity. Incidentally an electric generator also exists close by. If the garbage is set on fire it could prove dangerous. It is located near a parking lot and raises a stink. The authorities need to cordon off this place and put up a sign-board desisting people from dumping the garbage at the spot. However before this is done the civic body needs to clear the place of the existing garbage.
