PONDA: Two months have passed that roads at Borim have been hot-mixed. However, the road edges and shoulders are not leveled and locals fear the risk of accidents to vehicles and pedestrians it poses.
Borim local Ramesh Naik said “At several places, the edges of roads have come nearly 20 to 30 cms above the shoulder of road, further creating a risk to the public. The two-wheeler riders especially have a high risk of falling off the road on account of this level difference between the shoulder and hot-mix carpet.”
“If the vehicles go off the edge of road this is a sure invitation for vehicles to go down the shoulder or footpath and put the pedestrians’ life in danger,” another Borim local added.
Locals have demanded that the concerned authorities should check upon the work executed.
