In my village Candolim, there are two big hotels of same name and owned by the same owners, one at Ximer opposite to the old Post Office and the other at Pintos Vaddo, opposite the Azilo.
The taxis engaged with these hotels are creating a danger zone to the passers-by on the main road touching the premises of these hotels. Anytime any major accident can take place. I think it is not correct to allow these taxis to use the public road as a “Praca” and those who are responsible in the village they should notify the hoteliers about this concern for the safety of the locals and others using these public roads.
First of all I think it is not right for the local panchayat to give a green signal to these hoteliers to construct their hotels without proper parking. I feel it is mandatory for the panchayat to issue the construction licence to the Hoteliers only after obtaining the provision for Car Parking Area.
If the proper procedure was not followed by the local panchayat when issuing the construction licences, then did both these Hoteliers bypass the provision of car park in their own premises of their own freewill or were the local licence issuing authority guilty of issuing construction licences to these Hotels by accepting bribes?
There is a vast possibility for the local authority to indulge not only in accepting a bribe but also demanding the bribe forcefully. Who can give me the proper answer so that I come to know how the local panchayat members amassed disproportionate wealth to live like maharajas?
