Construction activities and renovation work in the coastal villages of Benaulim and Varca have resumed post the lifting of lockdown, as a result of which a lot of building debris and garbage is generated which is dumped by the roadside under cover of the night creating an eyesore and unhygienic conditions. I request the panchayat authorities to carry out periodic surprise inspections at construction sites and penalize errant parties who defile the landscape. Also ‘stop work’ notice should be issued to parties till such time they clear the debris.
