Stray cattle menace has become a matter of great concern in recent times. Cattle occupying the road cause great inconvenience and trouble for travellers and pedestrians alike. Many human lives have been either seriously injured or lost due to mishaps on road arising due to this menace. It is rather surprising that the concerned authorities like the municipalities and village panchayats have not yet initiated favourable steps to deal with this ever-growing menace. Not only in cities but in villages too this problem exists on regular basis. The village of Adpai in Ponda adds to this list. Cattle regularly occupy the road adjacent to the Goa State Co-operative Bank Ltd, more so during the night. Seen in the picture are buffaloes proceeding along the road near two pillars at Queula village (in Ponda). It is time for the village panchayat of Queula to take a note of this important matter and initiate prompt positive action so that safety is assured for travellers and pedestrians alike. Let us hope that prompt favourable action would follow in public interest.
