Desi tourists litter picturesque Hollant Beach

Hollant, near Bogmalo beach happens to be an isolated beach which till lately desi tourists probably never knew about.

The serene sea water makes it ideal for senior citizens from Vasco and the surrounding areas to take their annual dip  which happens to have medicinal value. The beach is very popular with picnic-goers during the summer vacations. But now it seems that even this picturesque beach has not been spared by local tourists who poured into the state during the festive season. There is now litter all over the place. These tourists do not think twice about throwing the garbage they produce in the open. There are several broken bottles all over the place which could prove dangerous for locals who visit the beach. It is observed that at several places near the beach, garbage has been set on fire thus leaving behind half-burnt waste. Just like local tourists have been dirtying other beaches in the state, Hollant too has become a victim of their reckless behavior. Steps need to be taken by authorities concerned to keep this pristine beach free from all the garbage produced by the tourists by putting up sign-boards warning people not to litter the place. Sufficient number of dust-bins should also be provided all along the beach.
