MARGAO: The locals of Aquem Baixo along with sarpanch and panch members visited the electricity department to discuss the six-months-old pending issue of electricity bills.
Locals complained that the electricity department is burdening the residents of Aquem Baixo village (part of Firgulem ward and Shantinagar, part of Aquem Baixo Village) by delaying the issuance of their electricity bills for past five to six months.
“It is going to be really a hectic task for our people to pay a huge amount. Some cycle of bill is pending for a long period and when asked the in-charge says that they don’t have enough staff for meter reading. Is that the mistake of the people. Why do people have to suffer,” asked the Sarpanch Siddhesh Bhagat.
It becomes difficult to pay a huge amount at one time. When we asked him, he said the bills will be issued latest by January and if one go to see due date to pay the bill is 5/01/2018 does this make sense, he asked.
