This ugly plant is seen everywhere in Goa in the middle of the streets, street corners, traffic islands, even growing over the buildings as long as they get a source of water. The roots are very strong and can even crack the buildings and also choke up the drainage pipes. In spite of being an eyesore everywhere the plant is left to grow wild on the Goan roads and bylanes for no good reason and need to be uprooted completely. It is advisable for the municipal workers to undertake this exercise before the onset of the monsoons.
